Day 1

A well-versed way of ensuring you’re always keeping a photographer’s mindset active is embarking upon a ‘photo 365’ challenge or project.

One shot, every day, no exceptions, no breaks.

This year, I’m giving it a go. Now, with my newly rekindled passion for photography, I’ll be out with my grown-up camera in hand at least once a week, where I’ll take several dozen shots that give me several days’s worth of shots to process and upload to Flickr and Instagram.

However, that’s not the point of my #2022365 project. Instead, it’s a commitment to take (and publish) a new photo every day, whether I’ve been out on a ‘shoot’ or not.

With the Canon M6 Mark II or the iPhone, it matters not. What matters is that, even on the days where I don’t leave the house, I’m taking at least one shot every day and uploading it to my photo channels. Even if I don’t feel like it.

Another part of the project is the commitment to myself. Almost like a new year’s resolution (which I don’t make), but definitely a way to ensure I do at least one thing creative every day. No exceptions.

Seldom have I been more glad to have cats …
